Mount Sinai Real Estate Guide

    History

Originally known as Nonowatucket, the area of Mount Sinai was inhabited by Native Americans until European settlers obtained a deed for the land in the 1660s. During the American Revolution, the area was occupied by the British until the Americans reclaimed the area with a successful attack at Cedar Beach, on a historical trail that remains today.

Mount Sinai then became an agricultural town that later boomed into a resort spot in the late 19th century, where travelers would stay to enjoy the beautiful beaches and tranquil setting. During the mid-20th century, Mount Sinai became a residential suburban community, and continues to thrive as such today.
