Port Jefferson shines this holiday season with wonderful holiday events the whole family can enjoy! I’m excited to be sponsoring a Victorian home in the lantern-lit tour during the 17th Annual Charles Dickens Festival! The festival runs November 30 through December 2.
Come see the home I’ve sponsored at 204 Myrtle Avenue! It is the home of William and Kathianne Snaden, and is known historically as the Captain Lewellyn Tuhill House, built in 1890. The home has been decorated by professional designer Lisa Aeillo and the Than Girls. They have done a fantastic job and I can’t wait for everyone to see it! There will also be piano entertainment during the tour, provided by Port Jefferson residents and middle school students.
There are 7 different Victorian homes in this tour, each of them providing a special experience! It’s your chance to travel back in time during the Charles Dickens Festival! Don’t forget the old-fashioned market on East Main Street, and the carriage and trolly rides. The event wraps up with the Grand Final Parade on Sunday, December 2 at 5:00 p.m. See the Festival Website for all the details!
You can also catch our hometown talent in the Harbor Ballet Theatre presentation of The Nutcracker from November 30 through December 2! This is a Broadway-quality show that capitalizes on the talent of our local Port Jefferson dancers. You might just recognize someone on the stage!
Too much going on in one weekend? Not to worry! The Seiskaya Ballet presents The Nutcracker at the Staller Center from December 14 through 17! The beautiful dreamscape sets used in this performance were created Long Island native Matt Targon. This classic fantasy features stunning, professional choreography by Valia Seiskaya and is sure to amaze you.
Remember to please visit our local Port Jefferson merchants and restaurants, too! Your support helps keep our hometown a vibrant, thriving community! Enjoy Port Jefferson this holiday season!
